About our Home
Abbey Place Care Home is set in the heart of a residential estate in Fartown, a district of Huddersfield which is approximately 1 km north of the town centre.
All of the home’s bedrooms have en-suite facilities and residents are welcome to bring personal items to help to make the home their own.
Abbey Place offers a choice of TV/DVD lounges and quiet lounges as well as a large outdoor area with gardens for the residents and visitors to enjoy.
The activities co-ordinator organises a regular entertainment and activity programme, catering for the wide range of resident’s interests and hobbies. All staff have been dementia trained by the Alzheimer’s Society to ensure the home is a warm and welcoming place for residents to live.
The home also has an appetising and nutritional home cooked menu, designed by a nutritionist to cater for any dietary needs.
All reviews have been submitted through the independent website carehome.co.uk and are subject to the carehome.co.uk terms and conditions
Letter from the Manager
Welcome to Abbey Place
We offer first class care for the elderly on a permanent or respite basis, delivered by highly trained professionals in lovely comfortable surroundings.
Our philosophy is simple; we want everyone to enjoy life to the full. We never forget that all our residents are individuals and we treat them with dignity, privacy and respect while offering freedom of choice and as much independence as possible.
Friends and family are welcome at any time. Hot drinks and snacks are always available and guests are invited to share a meal with residents. Our cook prepares three nutritious meals a day and the menu changes regularly to reflect seasonal produce. Special diets are catered for.
Residents have freedom to choose what to do and when. There is plenty going and our activities coordinator puts together a full programme which is adapted to suit the needs and wishes of our residents. Activities include quizzes, sing-alongs, reminiscence therapy, indoor games, art and craft, baking and wherever possible, trips out and about.
I’d love to show you around the home. So if you should like a tour, or wish to discuss any aspect of elderly care with me, please telephone the home to make an appointment.
Yours sincerely
Fiona Lindsay
