Belmont Residents Enjoy A Trip To The Flicks

At Belmont Care Home we often design activities to help residents reflect on past experiences and memories. Sharing these can be incredibly beneficial, especially for those living with dementia. So this week we whisked our residents back to the Golden Age of Cinema, with a trip to the Palace in Preston.

The Palace Cinema has recently started providing dementia-friendly screenings, where lights are kept on, and no adverts are shown. On this trip, residents enjoyed a showing of the 1953 classic Calamity Jane. In keeping with tradition, we all stood for the National Anthem and ate popcorn and ice cream.
