Residents at Broomfield Court Care Home in Glasgow are being whisked back to their school days with a new tuck shop. The Victorian-style market stand will be stocked with all sorts of classic sweets and treats for residents and their families to enjoy.
Residents have decided to take charge of running the stand, with any profits made going straight back into the residents’ fund for activities and days out. Alec, a Broomfield Court resident, said; “I am really excited to be a part of running the tuck shop each day.”
The tuck shop will not only provide a nice treat for visitors to the care home, but will also give residents the opportunity to reminisce about time spent visiting sweet shops in their childhood.
