The team of staff at Badgers Wood are amazing. Even though we can't visit at the moment, staff are keeping us regularly updated with Mum's care and what she and her friends are getting up to each day. We are getting the email updates; thank you. It makes being separated easier to bear. The whole team are to be commended for keeping everyone safe and keeping everyone's spirits up.

S K (Daughter of Resident)

Finding care for your loved one is a minefield. However, the manager and staff have eased our stress no end. Badgers Wood is lovely. It has some lovely, niche ideas and my mum is so happy already. She feels safe, valued and has made friends. Thank you - you are a wonderful team.

P B (Daughter of Resident)

We looked around several homes before choosing Badgers Wood. Our reasons for picking this home were happy atmosphere, happy staff, warm, clean, light and bright, clean and happy residents. Mum has been happy since moving in.

Anne Riches, Care Home Manager

A very warm welcome to Badgers Wood Care Home in Drayton, Norfolk.

With a solid and considerable background in a variety of care settings, I head up a team of highly competent, fully-trained, and compassionate care staff and am proud to say that our home is a friendly, caring and homely environment.

I am supported by my Deputy Manager, Sasha High, who also has a sound knowledge of all aspects of care and support and has worked at Badgers Wood for the last 7 years. In turn, we are both supported by our Home Administrator, eight senior care staff and twenty-one care staff along with an Activities Organiser and other vital support staff.

Working in partnership with Norfolk Social Services, Age UK Norfolk, and the Care Quality Commission we offer a high standard of resident choice and resident-focused activities and are proud to say that we hold the “Outstanding” rating with CQC. Furthermore, we encourage the maintenance of our residents’ independence as far as we possibly can within a safe and reassuring environment. Person-centred care planning is an essential part of our care strategy.

We will work closely with you to make sure the transition into residential care is as smooth as possible. On moving in, residents are encouraged to bring personal items such as smaller items of furniture (including an armchair if fire retardant to ensure health and safety).

If you have any queries whatsoever in relation to our home please do not hesitate to contact me via phone or email.
