At Mundy House Care Home we have a family approach to care, caring for others as we would care for our own relatives. Our team are passionate about supporting people but thrive on enabling others to regain and maintain as much independence as possible.
Music plays a big part in life at our care home in Basildon. Our afternoon singalongs are a firm favourite with residents. With dancing, singing, and many fond memories recalled, afternoons are filled with smiles and laughter. For those who prefer time spent with a magazine or a good book, we also have a selection of quiet lounges.
Choice is at the heart of everything we do and it is important to us that your life is filled with the things you love. Our vibrant activities program covers a range of interests including crafts, gentle exercise, interactive games and quizzes. We also have an active gardening community, an in-house hair salon and a choice of food available 24/7.

We offer first class care for the elderly on a permanent or respite basis, delivered by highly trained professionals in lovely comfortable surroundings.
Our philosophy is simple; we want everyone to enjoy life to the full. We never forget that all our residents are individuals and we treat them with dignity, privacy and respect while offering freedom of choice and as much independence as possible.
Friends and family are welcome at any time. Hot drinks and snacks are always available and guests are invited to share a meal with residents. Our cook prepares three nutritious meals a day and the menu changes regularly to reflect seasonal produce. Special diets are catered for.
Residents have freedom to choose what to do and when. There is plenty going and our activities coordinator puts together a full programme which is adapted to suit the needs and wishes of our residents. Activities include quizzes, sing-alongs, reminiscence therapy, indoor games, art and craft, baking and wherever possible, trips out and about.
I’d love to show you around the home. So if you should like a tour, or wish to discuss any aspect of elderly care with me, please telephone the home to make an appointment.
I could not recommend Mundy House enough. My Nan has lived here for a couple of years now and I know that she is being looked after so well. The manager and another member of staff from Mundy House made it possible for my Nan to be at my wedding in September and I will be forever grateful for that. All the staff are so friendly and helpful. Generally, such a lovely place and you can relax knowing Nan is safe and being cared for.
My family member has been a resident for nine years and now, with the great care and kindness here, they have reached 101! I visit regularly and am always made welcome by friendly staff with no strict visiting times. Senior staff are always there to help with any worries or concerns and I have never heard a harsh word. The correct medication is given at the right time and there is always good personal hygiene, hair combed and clean dentures and glasses. Appropriate equipment is used when needed and there is a tea trolley several times a day. There is a choice of food served on clean tablecloths for dinner and lovely clutter-free bedrooms. Mundy House is on a train and local bus route.
A friend has been in Mundy House for some years now so I have good knowledge of the management and staff. I have seen them interacting with my friend and many other residents and they are always very professional and very caring in what sometimes can be challenging situations for them. The home as a 'resident centred' attitude in words and actions. Rooms are well maintained are there are a good range of activities for residents to participate in. Family/carers are regularly invited to sessions with managers where we are advised on developments in the home and where all questions and suggestions are encouraged. All the other families I have met speak highly of Mundy House. The management also has an 'open office door policy' for residents and families/carers and it is not unusual to see a resident just sitting in the office for a chat. A well run and friendly place.
