Here at The Chanters Care Home, we are proud to offer first class care for the elderly on a permanent or respite basis, delivered by highly trained professionals in lovely comfortable surroundings.

Each of our units, either Dementia care or Residential are able to offer single bedrooms, which can be personalised with pictures or your favourite ornaments and trinkets. Each room has en-suite toilet and sinks, bedside furniture and either a standard or specialised nursing bed.

The home has 24 hour Senior/ Care staff, as well a full complement of Activity, Domestic, Laundry, Kitchen, Maintenance and Administration staff to meet your every need. Friends and family are welcome at any time. Hot drinks and snacks are always available and guests are invited to share a meal with residents. Our cook prepares three nutritious meals a day and the menu changes regularly to reflect seasonal produce. Special diets are catered for.

Our philosophy is simple; we want everyone to enjoy life to the full. We never forget that all our residents are individuals and we treat them with dignity, privacy and respect while offering freedom of choice and as much independence as possible.

Residents have freedom to choose what to do and when. There is plenty going and our activities coordinator puts together a full programme which is adapted to suit the needs and wishes of our residents. Activities include quizzes, sing-alongs, reminiscence therapy, indoor games, art and craft, baking and wherever possible, trips out and about.

Finally, The Chanters care home is fully regulated by the local council as well as the Care Quality Commission (CQC), which a link to the latest inspection is provided on this website. Also check out our reviews on carehome.co.uk, a link is also provided to this website on here.

Angela (Daughter of Resident)

Mum has been living at The Chanters for 18 months now and is very happy in her new home. The environment is so welcoming, bright and colourful with lovely gardens and social areas. Above all, though her experience of the stimulating environment, the constant care and support and family atmosphere make each day enjoyable for her. The management and staff are exceptional and take time to interact with residents and family members on an individual basis which means a great deal to all of us. During challenging times they never cease in their commitment to the people in their care and we are blessed to have such dedicated and extremely hard-working individuals and teams looking after our loved ones. Recently the opportunity to keep in touch with family here and abroad through video calls has been wonderful and much appreciated. Thank you!

L J (Daughter of Resident)

David H (Son of Resident)

Mum came for a weeks respite care. We were very impressed with the staff we first met during the initial assessment and during her stay, The home appeared very well run, clean and hospitable. She very much enjoyed her stay and hopefully will be able to return.
