What others say about Highfield Care Home

Highfield Care Home

Sharalke R (Daughter-in-law of Resident)

"My mother-in-law has been a resident at Highfield for nearly two years and in that time, has always received first class care and attention. The staff are very dedicated and always appear happy and proud of their work. I would recommend this care home to all who are looking to relocate any elderly relations in order to maintain their dignity in their later years."

Virginia F (Daughter of Resident)

"My 92-year-old mother came to Highfield in April 2015. She was CHC fast-tracked by the hospital and very frail, underweight, had pressure sores - we were very concerned about her. Highfield's excellent care nursed her back to health, and she has enjoyed a good standard of life for the past two years. I know all the staff and they are always receptive to my concerns or requests for Mum's care. Her health is now starting to fail, and I have been impressed with the level of care and kindness shown to her and to me at this time. I have marked it good because Highfield is still improving its facilities but the most important element - the care - is excellent."

"I was recently in England to visit my Mum who has been in your care home Highfield (Bekesbourne) now for almost two years. We couldn't wish for her to be in a more serene and lovely place. The staff are just wonderful, so very friendly from the moment we entered to when we left, my Mum is being treated so well by all the team there. She enjoys all the activities especially the singing and the music man on a Tuesday. We are very lucky to have her there. The food looks and smells delicious and my Mum enjoys it. Thanks to all the cooks and kitchen staff, they do a wonderful job, as do all the staff. Wishing you all the very best and thank you all for taking such good care of my Mum. Hello to all the residents I met and to all the staff. Keep up your good work. Many thanks, best wishes and kind regards to you all."

Letter from the Manager

Welcome to Larchwood

We offer first class care for the elderly on a permanent or respite basis, delivered by highly trained professionals in lovely comfortable surroundings.

Our philosophy is simple; we want everyone to enjoy life to the full. We never forget that all our residents are individuals and we treat them with dignity, privacy and respect while offering freedom of choice and as much independence as possible.

Friends and family are welcome at any time. Hot drinks and snacks are always available and guests are invited to share a meal with residents. Our cook prepares three nutritious meals a day and the menu changes regularly to reflect seasonal produce. Special diets are catered for.

Residents have freedom to choose what to do and when. There is plenty going and our activities coordinator puts together a full programme which is adapted to suit the needs and wishes of our residents. Activities include quizzes, sing-alongs, reminiscence therapy, indoor games, art and craft, baking and wherever possible, trips out and about.

I’d love to show you around the home. So if you should like a tour, or wish to discuss any aspect of elderly care with me, please telephone the home to make an appointment.

Yours sincerely
