Appleby Care Home provides specialist dementia (EMI) care for up to a number of residents in North Shields.

Part of Larchwood Care Homes, the purpose built home offers a safe and secure environment promoting independence and well-being. There are a number of care packages available offering long and short term care including nursing.

Each room has en-suite facilities and the home has a number of communal rooms. The secure gardens offer an outside space for residents to enjoy during the summer months and the on-site activities co-ordinator develops a monthly programme with the needs and capabilities of the residents in mind.

Skills, knowledge and qualifications required:

Experience of laundry/domestic duties within a care environment
Key responsibilities:

Maintaining a high standard of laundry for residents clothes, bedding and towels.
Cleanliness of entire home including bedrooms, communal lounges and bathrooms/toilets
Daily, weekly & monthly cleaning schedules to be completed and maintaining a high standard of cleanliness throughout the home

Skills, Knowledge and Qualifications required are:

Basic Food Hygiene Certificate
Satisfactory DBS check
Team Player
Ability to manage time effectively
Ability to communicate effectively with other staff and service users
Experience of food preparation within a care home setting is also desirable.

•1st Level Nurse
•Ability to communicate effectively at all levels
•Genuine interest in working with the relevant Client group
•Satisfactory Police Check and check against the POVA List (where applicable)

•Team player
•Experience and qualification in care for relevant Client category
•Previous supervisory experience

Key responsibilities:

•To achieve the highest possible standard of care in a professional manner through direct nursing care and effective supervision of Staff Members. To take management responsibility for a shift as directed.
•Ensure that all Staff Members contribute, to the best of their ability, to the efficient running of the Care Centre and the creation of an atmosphere conducive to the best interests of the Clients. Duties may include acting up for the Deputy Home Manager and/or the Home Manager in their absence.
•Adhere to all appropriate NMC guidelines / regulations.
•Adhere to all Company policies and procedures within the defined timescales
