It was a glamorous night of recognition for the team from Laureate Court Care Home in Rotherham, as they celebrated a nomination at the Great Yorkshire and Humberside Care Awards. Set amongst twinkling lights and grand Royal carriages on the platform at The National Railway Museum in York, the gala evening looked like a scene from the Harry Potter movies.
The regional awards celebrate the best in Care Homes and Home Care across 27 different categories. Maggie Jukes, Housekeeper at Laureate Court received a finalist’s place in ‘The Ancillary Worker Award’ category.
Jill Kilgallen, Registered Care Home Manager at Laureate Court, said; “Maggie has worked at Laureate Court for over 20 years and has played an active role. Maggie started in the laundry, working her way up to housekeeper. Maggie is also our Infection Control Lead, ensuring the safety of our residents. Maggie also helps our residents with meaningful activities such as folding tea towels, pairing socks, and dusting.”
