Rose Martha Court Care Home in Leigh-on-Sea has marked Dignity Action Day 2021 with a positive day of celebrations for residents and staff.
Promoting dignity for all in its care is a key foundation for the home on Leigh Road. However, the Rose Martha Court team were keen to join in the national celebration and create a memorable day for their residents.
The focal point for the home’s Dignity Action Day event was a specially made dignity cloud. Residents and staff were encouraged to express what dignity means to them on pieces of coloured paper. These messages were turned into paper chains and proudly hung from the dignity cloud on the home’s Dignity Action Day board.
The activity was a wonderful opportunity for residents and staff to not only discuss the themes of dignity and respect but also to discover things they may not have known about each other.
Proud to Uphold the Standards of Dignity and Respect
Lianne Parkin, home manager of Rose Martha Court, said: “It was a lovely occasion to mark for the residents and for the staff. Dignity Action Day helped us to chat about dignity and its importance while shining a light on the standards we are proud to uphold every single day.”
The dignity cloud remains on display in the home surrounded by inspirational messages and 8 key standards of dignity and respect. Among others, these standards include compassion, kindness, privacy and honesty.
Rose Martha Court Care Home runs a packed weekly programme of activities and entertainment for its residents. With plenty on offer, catering for a wide range of interests, there is always something fun to enjoy at the home.
