For National Care Open Day on Friday 19th June, local Mayor Councillor Don Morris and MP for South Basildon and East Thurrock, Stephen Metcalfe, stopped by Cameron House for some cakes and conversation. Pictured above are residents Joyce, Jean and Juliette with Don and Stephen.

The cake stall provided everyone with a little bite to eat and to add an element of fun to the day, Cameron House had arranged for one of their entertainers known as ‘Trevor the cowboy’ to perform some rodeo-style dancing. He put everyone in a good mood and one of the residents, Jean, enjoyed it in particular. She said, “It was a very enjoyable day and the entertainment was nice”.

The performance got everyone together and chatting even more and the visitors both expressed a keen interest in the work Cameron House do to keep the residents feeling at home and in high spirits. “They were really impressed with the efforts the staff put in”, said Ian Jones, Administrator at the home.

It’s great to see this open day event creating opportunities for homes to gain recognition from local communities for the excellent work they are consistently carrying out.
