This picture may look like a normal picture, however it is actually a jigsaw turned picture made by Burges House resident Val Williams. Val takes great pleasure from making jigsaws and then allows the other residents to enjoy them by framing the finished product. The jigsaws are kindly brought in to the home for Val by family and friends. Once finished and framed they are then hung throughout the home.

Val has produced some lovely jigsaw art including a snow scene, a selection of roses chocolates and a poster style picture of television series Downton Abbey, which is shown in the picture. Susan Webster, Activities Co-ordinator commented, “Val finishes her jigsaws so quickly, and they are incredibly intricate and detailed. They are not small puzzles either, some are over 1000 pieces! Everyone enjoys coming to see them and they are the talking point of the home.”

Val said that she was “Elated to have been recognised for her work and enjoys seeing her efforts displayed to everyone.”
