Every year in the run-up to Christmas, Leigh-on-Sea plays host to a festive parade. On Friday 29th November, a cast of local groups, entertainers and brightly lit floats headed through the streets of the town spreading the magic of Christmas. Snow machines created a wintry scene, while local people enjoyed street food and warming drinks before the town’s Christmas lights were officially switched on.
Each year, the route of the Christmas parade passes Rose Martha Court. So this year we sent our very own Santa’s helpers to greet passers-by with some festive cheer. Our Activities Coordinator Chris joined residents’ relatives Joyce and Tina in wearing Christmas outfits to host our stall. Selling Christmas ornaments, handmade by residents, as well as hot chocolate, mulled wine, and mince pies, the trio raised £202 for our residents’ fund.
A huge thank you to all who helped us raise this amazing amount of money. It will go towards organising some exciting trips and activities for our residents in the coming months.
