Alexander Court Care Home’s 25th-anniversary garden party in Thetford was a wonderful occasion.
The care home opened its arms and gardens to the community, and had the honour of hosting none other than the Mayor, Cllr Stuart Wright! The vibe? A barbecue under the sun, the hum of karaoke filling the air, and a sea of guests shimmering in silver attire – paying homage to the incredible 25 years the home has spent looking after people.
Besides all the festivities and silver-themed sartorial choices, the day had an even bigger silver lining. The event was also a fundraiser for the residents’ fund, which brings those little extras and activities that brighten up their days.
Catching up with the manager of Alexander Court, Pat Collins, the pride in her voice was unmistakable. “Celebrating 25 years of love, care, and community is a huge milestone for us,” she said. “Seeing everyone dressed in silver, joining in the festivities was just the cherry on top of our silver jubilee sundae.”
Mayor Cllr Stuart Wright echoed the sentiment. “Every chat I’ve had today, be it with the carers, the lovely residents, or their families, it’s palpable how much heart goes into what Alexander Court does. I’m thrilled to be part of such a landmark celebration.” He chuckled, promising to pop by more often, keen to partake in the home’s renowned activities.
So, here’s raising a toast to Alexander Court Care Home – for their 25 years of impeccable service, and many more to come. If the celebrations are anything to go by, the future is certainly looking silver-bright!
