Harmony House Care Home Brings Festive Cheer to Children in Hospital

During November and December, Harmony House Care Home in Nuneaton held an appeal to bring smiles to the faces of Children admitted to A&E over the Christmas period. The home is situated close to the George Elliot Hospital, and residents and staff decided they would like to do something to help cheer up visitors to the Children’s A&E department at Christmas.

A collection point placed in the reception area of Harmony House encouraged visitors, staff, and volunteers to buy one selection box while Christmas shopping to donate to the appeal. On hearing that around 60 children visit the department each day over the festive period, the target was set for a day’s worth of selection boxes.

Thanks to the kind donations from all involved, Harmony House successfully reached its target. Care Home Manager Karin Scott and Activities Coordinator Hayley Gibbs delivered the mountain of selection boxes for the children as well as a tin of biscuits for the staff to enjoy.
