Meet the Manager

Sandra Reilly

Sandra Reilly, Care Home Manager

Muirton House Nursing Home is situated on the outskirts of the country town of Blairgowrie. Set in its own large gardens, the home has open views of fields, hills and woodland with an abundance of wildlife including red squirrels and deer. The home celebrated 30 years of care provision in 2019 and is well respected within the sector.

The home is staffed by a diligent and professional team with a wealth of experience in nursing, dementia and learning disability care. Visitors to the home remark on the warm, friendly welcome they get and many of our residents come through recommendations from other residents or their families.

Friends and families work closely with staff to provide the best possible care for our residents. Many say they feel part of the home and visit regularly. They take part in activities within the home, enjoy coffee or a meal with their family member and are listened to if they have any concerns.

Muirton House employs 2 activity coordinators who arrange a diverse range of activities within the home or on outings using our own mini bus. Visits to local hotels for coffee or a Christmas dinner are popular with residents who can be joined by family members. We have worked closely with youth groups and nursery children to promote intergenerational activities which appears to benefit young and old alike. Residents are supported to be independent, make choices and live life to the fullest.

If you would like to view Muirton House, my staff and myself would warmly welcome you and happily show you round our lovely home. Please call 01250 394967 to arrange an appointment.

Testimonials

Lorna W (Wife of Resident)

My husband is very well cared for by very attentive staff in the EMI unit. His room is lovely. I would have no hesitation recommending Muirton House Nursing Home.

R M (Brother of Resident)

My sister moved here in September 2022 and has settled in well. The unit is a good size and has the feeling of a family environment. There are always plenty of activities going on, and the residents regularly have outings in the minibus, which they all seem to enjoy. The staff are all friendly and caring and seem to have genuine empathy with the residents. I have been very happy with my sister's care and am delighted that she moved here.

Christopher S (Son of Resident)

I would highly recommend Muirton House Nursing Home - my Mum was given excellent care whilst a resident there, we as her family were extended the same amount of care.

K J (Daughter of Resident)

Throughout mum's stay of just over two years, I have always been impressed by the professional and compassionate way the staff have cared for her and the other residents. I was a regular visitor and saw first hand the dignified way in which they looked after everyone, accommodating individual needs. There was always a very welcoming atmosphere and a great sense of camaraderie among staff, residents and visitors. There are opportunities for those who wish to, to take part in a variety of activities, eg gentle exercise, arts and crafts etc and variety of entertainers go in on a regular basis. Good use is made of the minibus, taking residents out to local cafes and events. During her time and particularly in the days leading up to her death they have been very supportive to my family and me. Mum was briefly in another care home before going here so I know that this standard is not universal. No hesitation in recommending Muirton House.
