Cherry Tree in Muirton House Garden

Muirton House Receives Wonderful Gifts For Their Outdoor Spaces

Some heartwarming news from our favourite corner in Blairgowrie – Muirton House Care Home. The buzz? A beautiful weeping cherry tree now graces the garden, and here’s the story behind it.

Imagine soaking up the sun, walking through a lush green garden, and suddenly, your eyes catch the cascading beauty of a weeping cherry tree. That’s the experience we aim to give every visitor and resident here. Thanks to a gracious donation from the daughter of our beloved resident, Robert Fairbairn, we’ve brought this experience to life.

As a tribute to Robert’s love for green spaces and sunny strolls, there’s a dedicated plaque near the new cherry tree.

Everyone can relish the soothing sound

The garden’s also got another brand new addition – a solar-powered wishing well crafted by John Farquhar, the talented spouse of Sylvia, one of our carers. Positioned just right so that it’s visible from the Maple Lounge windows, everyone can relish the soothing sound of running water it produces.

Home manager, Sandra Reilly said: “We are deeply touched by these heartwarming gestures. Robert’s love for the garden is shared by many of our residents, and this tree will stand as a testament to the comfort and joy our outdoor spaces bring. The wishing well is beautiful and we’re grateful to John for turning his creative skills to good use for our residents. We extend our heartfelt thanks to Robert’s daughter and to John and Sylvia for their beautiful contributions.”
