You will find a regular and vibrant programme of activities at each Larchwood Care home led by our dedicated activity coordinators.
Activities are designed to promote active minds and bodies, encourage social contact, and ensure our residents do the things they enjoy the most. We understand that group activities are not for everyone, which is why our activity coordinators get to know each resident personally. By discovering individual interests and hobbies, there is always time for a more personal catch up.
Larchwood Care homes are proud to sit at the heart of their local communities. With great links to local groups and organisations, care home activities often involve talks, demonstrations and performances from local people.
During the coronavirus pandemic, investment in digital technology such as tablets and giant smart TVs helped residents remain virtually connected to both loved ones and their local communities.
Alongside our own dedicated entertainment team, we are proud to have partnered with Oomph! the UK’s leading supplier of wellness services to the UK care sector. All of our residents have access to the Oomph! On-Demand digital wellbeing and activities platform, with a wealth of digital entertainment and activities to enjoy at their leisure.
From interactive quizzes and puzzles to online exercise classes and virtual escapes to worldwide destinations, there is something for everyone. Oomph On Demand’s content is designed to enhance mental, physical and emotional wellbeing, and also provides a wide range of resources and ideas for our own activity teams.
We also arrange visits to Religious festival celebrations at Christmas and Easter as well as activities surrounding other non-religious festivals. To ensure we all look our best, a hairdresser regularly visits Larchwood Care homes where salon facilities are available.
Our Catering Team provide a wide range of freshly prepared meals to suit all tastes. Residents are encouraged to make menu suggestions and any specific treats, needs or allergies can be catered for.
