Avonbridge Care Home in Hamilton recently participated in ‘Random Acts of Kindness Week’ with a heartfelt gesture aimed at expressing gratitude to local individuals and organisations that significantly contribute to the community’s well-being. The week-long event culminated in a special visit from the local fire service, adding a touch of warmth and appreciation to the occasion.
In a touching initiative, the care home embarked on a mission to deliver tokens of appreciation to Oak Lodge Medical Practice, showering them with a selection of delectable treats. This gesture aimed to acknowledge and honor the tireless efforts of the medical practice in ensuring the health and well-being of Avonbridge residents. Moreover, the care home extended its gratitude to the Hamilton Fire Service by treating them to breakfast rolls, tea, and coffee, as a token of appreciation for their heroic endeavors. The visit not only included refreshments but also offered an opportunity for residents to explore the fire engine and engage in conversations with the officers, further strengthening community ties.
Additionally, Anne, the home’s volunteer Eucharistic Minister, was presented with a beautiful bouquet of flowers, symbolising recognition for her dedicated volunteer work. Anne’s commitment allows residents to maintain their faith from the comfort of their home, fostering a sense of spiritual well-being within the community.
Reflecting on the initiative, Robert, a resident at Avonbridge Care Home, expressed his gratitude, stating, “The treats and flowers are our way of saying thank you, and we are grateful we can recognise in a small way those who contribute to our well-being.”
