Hours 38 hours per week with alternate weekends

 

About the position

As part of our team, you’ll be responsible for promptly reporting and addressing any defects in appliances, damaged equipment, or potential hazards, ensuring the safety of our residents and staff. Collaboration with the Home Manager is key as you take action and keep them informed of your efforts. With your culinary flair, you’ll craft diverse seasonal menus while maintaining high standards and accommodating specialised dietary needs. Diligent record-keeping of food and delivery temperatures, along with adherence to company policies, will be essential. You’ll uphold the cleanliness and proper maintenance of equipment, promptly replacing items as needed. Managing orders, receiving deliveries, and conducting thorough checks will be part of your routine. This role requires a commitment to a 5-day schedule, including alternate weekends, and we seek someone who is dependable, enthusiastic, and passionate about the art of cooking.

What you’ll bring to the team

  • Demonstrate a comprehensive understanding of kitchen regulations
  • Possess a valid food safety certificate, ensuring adherence to industry standards
  • Communicate effectively within a team environment, fostering collaboration and efficient workflow
  • Passing satisfactory DBS checks
  • Display initiative and the ability to work autonomously when necessary
  • Show eagerness to participate in ongoing training related to food safety awareness and EHO issues
  • Uphold high standards of meal preparation while managing within budgetary constraints
