The residents and team at Basildon-based care home Mundy House are thrilled to have received their first Covid-19 vaccinations.

The vaccinations were administered at the home off Church Road in a Covid-secure environment.

Home Manager Josi George said: “This is fantastic news for our staff, our residents and their loved ones. The safety of our residents and staff remains paramount at this difficult time and we must do everything we can to ensure that we can continue to provide the best care to our residents. It has been a long road, and there is still a way to go, but we are happy to have reached this wonderful milestone. A huge thank you to everyone that has made this possible.”

The team at the Basildon-based care home have been working hard to keep their residents safe throughout the pandemic, but also to keep them in touch with loved ones through video and phone calls when visiting has not been possible.

A Happy Day

Mundy House resident Christine Summers said: “I am very happy to receive the Covid vaccine. I hope many more people will take up the offer so that we can all get back to a more normal life soon.”

Joyce Roberts, a fellow resident of Mundy House, added: “It is great to have had the first dose. I am thankful to all at Mundy House for arranging for us to have this vaccine here safely.”

Both residents and staff are now awaiting confirmation of their second dose of the Covid-19 vaccine in the coming weeks. In the meantime, our team will ensure that residents remain safe and entertained with their usual in-house programme of activities and sing-along afternoons.
